Spring Garden Gala 2017!

Elizabeth Reis of Twin Cities Live will emcee this year’s Spring Garden Gala.

Come on out and join us at the Minnesota State Horticultural Society’s fundraising event of the year! This year, we have a new venue and a new emcee, but the same over-the-top plant show, delicious food and fun prizes for northern gardeners.

This year’s Spring Garden Gala will be held on Saturday, April 1 at the Envision Event Center, located at 484 Inwood Ave. N in Oakdale. The doors open at 5 p.m., and the fun-filled activities last until 10. The event includes a “Plant Fashion Show,” put together by our friends from Bailey Nurseries. It includes may new perennials, annuals, shrubs and sometimes even trees that will be available in garden centers this spring. Bailey is home to such popular garden brands as Endless Summer hydrangeas, Easy Elegance roses and First Editions shrubs and perennials.

This exciting fundraiser benefits MSHS educational programs, such as Garden-in-a-Box and other programs that teach new and experienced gardeners.. Dinner costs $85 per person, with a $10 discount for MSHS members! The price includes a $30 (member) and $40 (non-member) deductible donation.

The Wall of Wine is one of the popular events at the spring gala.

You don’t want to miss out on the spectacular food at this year’s event. The menu consists of delicious fresh baked artisan bread, dried cherry salad and champagne chicken. Wine, dessert, and coffee or tea will be served alongside the fabulous meal. The gala will include a silent auction, wall of wine, raffle, gift bags, giveaways and more!

Get in the mood for spring with this year’s gala!

The emcee at the Spring Garden Gala will be Elizabeth Ries of KSTP 5’s Twin Cities Live. Ries is a television and radio personality. She reported for 5 Eyewitness News before making the move to Twin Cities Live, where she co-hosts weekdays at 3 p.m. Ries runs a blog called Home to Homestead that focuses on urban farming. She enjoys growing as much of her own food as possible in her well-kept garden.

Join us for another unforgettable night at the gala!
